Scaning the ticket

Something that is good to do before you go is to scan all the tickets and travel information (trips and such) and put it on your e-mail or copy it and have a copy in your bag. If you then, of some reason, misplace the original you can still prove that you have the ticket.
Last night I made the mistake by making the files to big so I couldn’t send them to my e-mail. So I will have to do it all over again. I was very irritated. Why don’t the computer understand what I want? But better safe than sorry!

Insurance

Insurance. I just realized that I need travel insurance. I had totally forgot about that. Called to insurance companies and asked what they have. So now I just have to pay for it. I wonder what more I have forgotten…

Next trip

Some days ago the botanical garden in Stockholm got a Wollemi pine from Australia. A tree that was thought to be extinct millions of years ago and was discovered 1994. Now there are just about 100 trees in the wild and they are trying to save it by donating and selling it to different places.
Now to the real travel news. I’m going to Australia in a few weeks and it’s going to be wonderful. I’ve been there before but it’s always something new to discover. Maybe I will find another species that we thought had been extinct! Who knows…

Before booking the trip

Before you book the trip with big T there are a few things you have to think about. How long do you have to be away to see everything you want to see and how long can you stay away. When you know this you are ready to start booking your trip. The next step is do you want to do everything on the trip alone or do you pay for a trip with guide? Some countries are easy to travel around in on your own while others are difficult. When it’s difficult it might be best to go on an organised trip. So think about this before you go and get a wonderful trip.

Traveling starts with planning

Before you go traveling you have to plan the trip. The amount of planning will depend on where the trip is going and how much time you have. Few days means that you have to know what you want to do before you go. Otherwise you might miss that special thing that you realize you just had to see… when you are back home.
To make it easier for us (or maybe make it more difficult) there are thousands of magazines, articles and books about trips and countries. I’m not going to lie, most of them are good and give you hints about what to do and where to stay and the climate even thou some of them don’t give you anything. All useful stuff that will make your trip better. Just don’t forget to go outside the tourist map. In other words don’t just go to the places in the books because that’s where you find all the other tourists. To get that fantastic trip you want you should do what you want to do and not what the books and magazines are saying you “have to see”. How do they now that?
